Abstract : MOBIE (Multi-Object Broadband Imaging Echellette) is the proposed first generation optical imager/spectrograph for TMT. MOBIE can do imaging and multi-slit spectroscopy for 100's of targets in a given field. India is participating in a mini-study on the optimization of acquistion sequence, guiding and wave front sensing. The MOBIE acquisition sequence and patrol field optimization are essential to minimize the instrument configuration time between different telescope pointings and observing modes. Different stellar population models are used to estimate the stellar density on the Galactic poles and based on science requirements, optimal patrol field area is calculated. An initial study on the steps involved in the acquisition sequence of different observing scenarios is also performed. The results of this min-study will be presented in my talk.
