Abstract : We present a quantitative analysis of nearby (z<0.018) early type galaxies containing ionised gas observed in near infrared wavelengths (2MASS). Our sample contains 54 early type galaxies selected mainly from low density environments. From the two dimensional bulge disc decomposition anaysis using GALFIT, we extracted the structural parameters bulge and disc modelled by sersic and exponential functions. Most of our samples including ellipticals are disc dominant in nature. The average value of bulge to total luminosity(B/T) of our sample is 0.324. Low values of sèrsic index (n<2) also suggest the possibility of the presence of discs in our sample. The strong correlation between the half light radius (Re)and the disc scale length(Rd) indicates the formation of the bulges from already existing discs. The linear correlation coefficient of Re - Rd relation for our sample is 0.947 with a significance greater than 99.9%.
