Abstract : The Ultraviolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on board ASTROSAT, India's multi-wavelenght astronomical satellite, has three detectors for imaging simultaneously in three wavelength regions, namely Far-ultraviolet(FUV; 130 - 180 nm), Near-ultraviolet (NUV; 200 - 300 nm), and Visual (VIS; 320 - 550 nm). These detectors are essentially identical except for having different photocathodes for each wavelength region. For good astrometry of celestial sources it is necessary to take into account the distortion correction in the UVIT. This distortion correction consists of two components, one due to optics of the telescope, and the other due to the distortion in the detector. Similarly, for a correct knowledge of the source flux, one needs to estimate the quantum efficiency (QE) of the detector. Therefore, as part of the ground calibration efforts of UVIT, experiments were conducted to determine (a) distortion pattern of the detector, and (b) quantum efficiency. We present here the procedure, analysis and results of these experiments.
