While there has been some progress in understanding the origin of a steady Poynting flux dominated outflow, the origin of episodic, particle dominated blobs is still unclear. We will apply ideas used to explain the initiation of coronal mass ejections from the Sun via Lorentz forces. In particular, we will investigate the applicability of a specific (ideal MHD) expansion instability that can explain the ejection of blobs. |
