| Name: Pranav Sharma Affiliation: Independent Researcher Conference ID: ASI2017_1333 Title : Light Curve Analysis of Comet C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) Authors and Co-Authors : Henry Throop Planetary Science Institute, USA/India Abstract Type : Poster Abstract Category : Sun and the Solar System Abstract : Comet C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) passed extremely close to Mars at about 41289.012313 kilometres during the winter of 2014.We observed the comet with Las Cumbres Observatory using 1-m telescopes located in Chile, South Africa, Australia and, USA. We observed the comet during the October 2014 & March 2015 for 24 nights and for took 338 images. We acquired CCD images at V, B, R, & I; and we performed aperture photometry on the data. In this paper, we present the results from our study and comparisons from data analysed using Hubble Space Telescope and various other earth-based telescopes. |
