Abstract : The Fermi Large Area Telescope has detected gamma-ray emission in 20 misaligned Active Galaxies (M-AGN) during its first four years of observation. Majority of the identified Fermi sources are blazars having jets aligned to the line of sight. Blazars show large amplitude intra-night optical flux variations (INOV). The origin of INOV is not well understood. The perturbation in accretion disk could be responsible for such variations. Alternatively, INOV can have jet origin and large Doppler beaming factor could play important role for such observed short term variability. In such a scenario, one would naturally expect these misaligned jet AGNs to either exhibit no optical variation or low amplitude intra-night optical flux variations. To test this hypothesis, we carry out short term variability study of a list of Fermi-detected M-AGNs using observations from Indian Observatories (Vainu Bappu observatory, Kavalur and Himalayan Chandra Telescope). Preliminary results of our findings will be presented here.
