Abstract : A comparative analysis of Total Electron Content(TEC) between the Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System(IRNSS) and Global Positioning System(GPS) constellation satellites has been made to study the ionospheric response over the central region of the Indian subcontinent with respect to space weather events, particularly at Indore (Lat: 22.52 N, Lon:75.92 E Geographic; Magnetic dip:32.23 N). The analysis was carried out using the data during September 2017, where the Disturbance storm time(Dst) index dropped to a minimum due to occurrence of an intense and a moderate geomagnetic storm. This analysis reveals a similar diurnal variation of TEC recorded from the GPS and the IRNSS satellites which states that the TEC values recorded by the IRNSS receiver is consistent with the GPS receiver.
