Abstract : We present the timing and spectral studies of the AstroSat observations of a neutron star Z source GX 17+2. The color-color diagram of the source reveals that it was in the Normal and Flaring branch during the observations. This was further confirmed based on the power density spectral analysis which revealed a 6-7 Hz and 8 Hz NBO/FBO in the 3-30 keV energy band. Interestingly, GX 17+2 and Sco X-1 are the only two Z sources were Flaring Branch Oscillations have been identified so far (Penninx et al. 1990) . Cross-correlation analysis was also performed in the soft (3-5 keV) and hard (16-30 keV) energy bands which showed correlated and anti-correlated lags of the order of a few hundred seconds. Simultaneous SXT and LAXPC spectral data analysis for the sections which displayed lags were performed and the obtained results will be discussed. Coronal size and coronal readjustment velocities are constrained on the basis of the obtained lags and will be discussed in light of that obtained from RXTE observations of GX 17+2 (Sriram et al. 2019).
