Abstract : | We present the X-ray spectral properties of active galactic nuclei (AGN) Mkn 478 from the AstroSat observation obtained through one of our AO proposals, 5 XMM-Newton and seven Swift observations. The analysis of time-averaged X-ray spectra suggests that the X-ray emission is strongly dominated by blurred relativistic reflection from the innermost dist around the black hole in Mkn 478. Also, the black hole spin has been constrained to 0.98, implying that it is a maximally rotating one. Further analysis of time-averaged and different flux spectra allow us to investigate reflection fraction variation with flux and photon index, which help to probe the gravitational light-bending effect in the vicinity of the black hole. The same spectroscopic analysis also provides evidence of short-term and long-term variability behavior of Mkn 478 |
