Abstract : Type Iax supernovae ( SNe) are low luminous cousins of type Ia SNe and are rare in occurrence. Type Iax SNe show diversity with a wide range in luminosity distribution. Bright type Iax SNe have weak Silicon feature as compared to faint members of this class. The probable progenitor system for bright Type Iax SNe is weak deflagration or incomplete eruption of white dwarf whereas the fainter members of this class indicate a weak core-collapse scenario or merger of two white dwarfs as a plausible progenitor system. We present the analysis of the progenitor system of a bright type Iax SN 2018cni and a faint member of this class SN 2020kyg. SN 2018cni shows resemblance with the white dwarf deflagration having three ignition points whereas SN 2020kyg hints towards the merger of two white dwarfs. Spectral modeling of both the SNe using TARDIS suggests a C-O dominated ejecta for SN 2020kyg and IGEs (Iron group elements) dominated environment for SN 2018cni. The combined study of both the SNe suggests that type Iax SNe show heterogeneity in terms of a few spectral lines, ejecta composition, and progenitor channel.
