Abstract : | We present a systematic study of f-mode oscillations of neutron stars containing hyperons, extending recent results obtained within the Cowling approximation to full General Relativity. Employing the relativistic mean-field model, we quantify the deviation between the approximate and exact results and present correlations between neutron star observables and the f -mode. While confirming trends in the f -mode frequency obtained in the Cowling approximation, the calculation of damping times for hyperonic stars facilitates additional empirical relations that may be useful for gravitational wave asteroseismology |
