Abstract : | The Indian Spectroscopic and Imaging Space Telescope (INSIST) is a next-generation space telescope, that is proposed. INSIST is expected to have simultaneous imaging in 3 channels (visible, u and UV) for a field of view of 0.5 Sq. degree, It will have provision for slit-less spectroscopy in the imaging channel and a multi-object spectroscopic capability in the UV for a small adjoining field. This project is seed-funded and the pre-project phase is completing two year. During this period, the design specifications based on the science requirements matured. Several technical trade studies and specific demonstrations were carried out. On behalf of the team, I plan to present the overview and the current status of the INSIST project. (The presentation can be Oral or Poster). |
