Abstract : The black hole X-ray binary Swift J1727.8-1613 went into an outburst in September 2023 and was observed by AstroSat. We present the X-ray timing and spectral analysis of the outburst and attempt to establish the energy-dependency of the quasi-periodic oscillation (QPO) frequency. The source shows a flux profile in the hard energy band and in a timescale $\lesssim$ 70 ks. Preliminary timing study shows that the type-C QPOs were prominent in lower energy bands and disappeared in the higher energy regimes. In addition to this, the joint spectrum of LAXPC and SXT data is fitted using models of power-law, Comptonization and standard models of disc accretion. Finally, since the source has been recently discovered, the spectral analysis wishes to estimate the black hole mass, mass accretion rate, and other parameters through model-fitting.
