Abstract : Over recent decades, notable advancements have been made in tools for analyzing high-energy pulsars. Yet, many lack a commonly accepted standard method for calculating uncertainties in period estimations, especially for Poisson-dominated data. While determining errors is crucial for model confidence, they were often previously overlooked due to computational demands. Furthermore, some past research has relied on semi-analytical methods with insufficient mathematical underpinnings or a narrow focus on white noise and time series data. In this study, we present results from our evaluation of error distribution in high-energy pulsar data using the $Z_n^2$ method. Our approach offers a more dependable error measurement for pulsar periods, especially evident when observing over several kilo-seconds. These findings have been corroborated using the Crab pulsar and various simulated pulsars. Our computational tools are publicly accessible at: https://github.com/akshats14/frequency_error_pulsar/
