Abstract : Gravitationally lensed Type Ia Supernovae (SNIa) are uniquely suited to address the Hubble constant problem in cosmology. In addition to obtaining accurate time delays, the standard candle nature of SNIa also provides additional constraints on the model of the lensing object. Finding such supernovae in ground-based imaging data from the upcoming Vera Rubin Observatory is a challenge. Strong gravitational lensing results in multiple images of the SNIa. Such images can be identified as newly appearing sources in difference images. However, these lensed supernova images are expected to be unresolved for a majority of the lenses. We present our efforts to develop a difference imaging pipeline to identify such lensed supernovae, by looking for extended objects in the difference imaging catalogs as well as by looking for outliers in the color-magnitude space for supernovae. We carry out injections of simulated lensed supernovae in precursor data from the Subaru Hyper Suprime-Cam survey and present the efficacy of our approach to find such systems.
