The Journal of Astrophysics and Astronomy (JAA) started in 1980 with the objective to be the face of Indian Astronomy and Astrophysics to the world (Brochure: https://www.ias.ac.in/public/Resources/General/joaa/joaa_brochure.pdf ). Presently, it is jointly published by the Indian Academy of Sciences, Astronomical Society of India, and Springer. The average time taken for the first report on the submitted manuscript is 30 days. Accepted articles are processed further in continuous article publishing (CAP) mode such that the proof-corrected articles are published online immediately.

We are happy to inform the astronomical community that the Impact Factor (IF) of the journal for the year 2021 has reached an all-time high of 1.610, a jump from 1.27 for the last 3 years. The five year IF has also gone up to 1.766 (2021). This is indeed a substantial leap and points to the growth of the journal.

This has been made possible only due the support from the authors, referees, and members of the community. We thank the community for all their support and look forward to their continued support to take the journal to greater heights.

Best Regards,
