We are organising a Discussion Meeting on Lunar Gravitational-Wave (GW) Detection at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR), Bangalore, India from 17 to 20 April 2023.

The main goal of this meeting is to discuss mission concepts for lunar GW detection, payload technologies, lunar geophysics, etc. as well as deci-Hz GW science. This meeting will also include scientists working on other mission concepts for deci-Hz GW detection (both space-based and Moon-based) to facilitate a meaningful exchange of ideas and techniques. Another goal of this meeting is to increase the Indian presence in the ongoing international efforts to prepare a science white paper on deci-Hz GW astronomy.

Deci-Hz GW astronomy is a promising new frontier for the future. This would be an excellent opportunity to explore how the Indian astronomy & space-physics community can contribute to this. We are expecting active participation from scientists from ISRO apart from several international colleagues working on lunar GW detection, space exploration, lunar missions, and other space-based concepts for deci-Hz GW detection.
