(i) Flight: Varanasi Airport is well connected to major cities across India. The airport is approximately 30 km from the BHU campus. Taxis and app-based cab services such as Uber, Rapido, and Ola are available from the airport for travel to the BHU/IIT-BHU campus and other parts of the city.
(ii) Railway: Varanasi Junction, also known as Cantt Railway Station, is well connected to major cities across the country. Several prominent trains, including Vande Bharat, Rajdhani, and other superfast and express services, have scheduled halts at this station. From the station, taxis, auto-rickshaws, and e-rickshaws are readily available to reach the BHU/IIT-BHU campus, which is approximately 10 km away.
Banaras Railway Station, formerly known as Manduadih Railway Station, has fewer train services compared with Varanasi Junction but is located closer to the BHU/IIT-BHU campus, at a distance of approximately 6 km.
In addition to these two main stations, Varanasi has several other railway stations, including Varanasi City and Kashi. Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Junction is another major railway station, located approximately 20 km from the BHU/IIT-BHU campus. A large number of major trains, including several Rajdhani services, have scheduled halts at DDU Junction.
