We use cosmological merger trees (for high resolution and detailed treatment of gas) and semi-analytical models of galaxy formation (for cosmological background and low computational cost) for initial contains of hydrodynamical simulations. We use GADGET-2 code for the simulations. We carry out the simulations with and without gas particles and compare the resultant disks in the two simulations. We examine the role of gas in the thickening of the disk. |
