Abstract : Observations show that the neutron-capture elements in the Galaxy show puzzling diverse abundance patterns. Detailed chemical composition analysis of stars with the atmosphere enriched by these ele- ments can throw light on the origin and chemical evolution history of these elements.. Metal-deficient Ba stars form useful candidates for conducting such studies. Most of the barium stars are known to be binary systems and they are believed to have received via binary mass transfer mechanisms the products of the companion stars produced during their AGB phase of evolution. Hence, the chemical composition of this class of objects can be used to trace back the AGB nucleosynthesis occurring in the companion stars. Over the past few observing cycles, we have acquired the spectra for a set of barium stars using HESP attached to 2m-HCT. We have performed detailed chemical and kinematic analyses of the sample based on the HESP spectra as well as 8.2m VLT/UVES and ESO-MPI/FEROS spectra. Some recent results obtained from this study will be presented in this talk.
