Understanding the nature of dark energy is of fundamental importance in present day cosmology. Various promising methods exist for exploring the source of this component. Due to lack of a fundamental theory, the approach to this understanding is phenomenological. In this talk, I will present constraints on different classes of dark energy models using different observations. I will also discuss how we can go beyond pure distance measurements and explore structure formation in the universe if dark energy clusters. I will describe prospects for further improvement in constraints from ongoing and future surveys. |
