Abstract : Using century-long (1923-2011) Kodaikanal White light digitized data, we track the Sunspots and measure the solar differential rotation. We use this long data series to understand if there is any variation in solar differential rotation with time, phase and strength of the solar cycle. To measure the differential rotation, we track individual sunspots in consecutive available images. Our preliminary results have shown that the differential rotation is negatively correlated with cycle strength, and it also marginally depends on the phase of the cycle. Apart from these results, our analysis also reveals that the smaller sunspots are associated with faster rotation rate than the larger ones. These results will provide a deeper insight into the understanding of sunspots formation and solar dynamo. For further validation, we have implemented our method to space-based data which not only confirms our findings but also gives better confidence in our conclusions.
