Abstract : Halo occupation distribution (HOD) model of HI galaxies is a useful tool in understanding the post re-ionisation history of the universe. This approach allows us to statistically interpret the data of the two-point correlation function of HI galaxies that we have at present and which will soon be available on a larger scale from surveys like SKA etc. The speaker will present a parameterised HOD model which depends only on HI mass and mass of the halos hosting the galaxies. It will be shown that this model can explain the two-point correlation function and the mass function of ALFALFA HI galaxies quite accurately. It is found from our analysis that it is necessary to have HI in satellite galaxies for the low HI mass thresholds whereas, for the high HI mass thresholds, the neutral hydrogen mainly resides in central galaxies. A statistical scaling relation between luminosity, colour and neutral hydrogen content of the galaxies will also be presented. It is found from the scaling analysis, that the neutral hydrogen prefers to reside in the blue galaxies.
