Abstract : We carry out an extensive study of the group environment in the Coma supercluster field, and its effect on galaxy evolution. The Coma Supercluster consists of two Abell clusters, namely Abell 1656 (Coma cluster) and Abell 1367, connected with rich filaments of galaxies and groups. Galaxy groups are selected from the Berlind and Yang group catalogue, which are objectively identified from a spectroscopically complete, volume-limited sample of SDSS galaxies. We study the evolution of galaxies in these groups, which themselves are situated in diverse environments, in terms of their star formation and AGN activity. We characterize these groups based on various intrinsic properties like richness, compactness and dynamical state, as well as their local and larger-scale environment. We combine these properties to identify the dominant factors influencing galaxy evolution.
