Abstract : Spiral galaxies are well known to be optically blue and having high star formation rate (SFR). However, in this work we use the multi-wavelength data from the GAMA survey to explore the causes of unusual colours of some extrordinary red spiral galaxies. We test whether dust or inclination angle are the causes for the red colours of these galaxies, and how the properties of the red spirals fair against their blue counterparts. Our results show that even the gas-rich red spirals have lower SFR than the blue spirals, suggesting that environment plays an important role in the colour evolution of spiral galaxies.
