Sreekumar, K. T. Paul Abstract Type : Poster Abstract Category : Extragalactic Astronomy Abstract : Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) are known to impact the star formation in the host galaxies through their energy and material jets; both negative feedback (well studied) and positive feedback (albeit only a few being known) cases have been found. We have studied the positive feedback cases; Centaurus A and Minkowski's object. To understand the AGN-SFR relationship in Centaurus A, UVIT observations of the northern and southern radio lobes were carried out. Also, the existing archival data on Minkowski's object was analyzed. In both of them, star formation seems to be occurring in a double structure which straddles the jet. We have explored and studied this relationship in detail. |
