Abstract : A Frameless motor is consists of fixed stator and moving rotor components separated by few microns air gap. rotor is consists of high energy rare earth magnets which is fastened/glued on rotor hub, the Stator portion consists of the electrical winding's housing.these type motors widely used for high load transmission and smooth operations. The poster describes the Frameless motor stator and rotor arrangements in the azimuth axis of 3.6m telescope with radial & axial bearings, integrated feedback system for smooth axis motion and friction behaviors.
