Abstract : During maximum phase of solar cycle a substantial reduction in activity is observed, thus forming a valley, between two peaks. The time interval between these two peaks are called Gnevyshev gap. The whole disc and latitude/longitude-time series data sets of different activity parameters are best agents of this feature. We study this mystery, by forming a grid of 0-10deg x 0-10deg latitude- longitude square zones over whole disc, in terms of Soft X-ray flare index/counts during solar cycle 21-23.Such a localized study helps us to differentiate the peculiarity in evolution of Gnevyshev gap. We find that Gnevyshev gap is, more or less, appears in each zone which implies that it is a intrinsic feature of solar cycle and is linked with pole-ward transfer of magnetic energy. The valley depth and time of appearance in a longitude is slightly different from that appears in time latitude series.
