Abstract : The sunspots have umbra and well developed penumbra. The Penumbra is a characteristic feature of sunspots where the interaction of plasma flows and magnetic fields occurs on a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. The penumbra forms when the magnetic flux in pores exceeds a critical value and the formation leads to the well-known Evershed flow in sunspots. In this work, we report the complete decay of a penumbra from a fully-developed sunspot, only to partially reform on one side of the sunspot before completely disappearing in a couple of hours. The magnetic field and plasma flows are examined to find the causes of the decay and reformation of the penumbra in the parent spot.
