Abstract : Quasar outflows are imprinted as blue-shifted broad absorption lines (BAL) in the ultraviolet spectrum of quasars. Variability studies of BAL quasars are highly useful to constrain the physical conditions of the gas close to the quasar central engine. With the completion of Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS)-IV, there are 2005 BAL quasars available in the SDSS database with at least three epochs of observations. This sample is an order of magnitude greater than the previous largest BAL variability study (~243). I will mainly discuss the main findings from our ongoing SDSS-IV BAL variability study. Apart from the statistical study exploring the various correlations, we also present a bigger sample for (1) stable BAL quasars (2) quasars changing their BAL class (3) BAL quasars showing acceleration signatures (4)LoBAL and FeLoBAL quasars. I will also discuss the results from our study investigating the connection between the intrinsic C IV absorption line variability and the continuum flux changes of BAL quasars.
