Abstract : Study of black hole X-ray transients is important to understand the evolution of accretion dynamics during outbursts. Outburst events are assumed to be triggered due to the interplay of mass accretion and disc instability. Whereas it continue to remain in the outbursting phase due to the irradiation from the central X-ray activities. The rising time of the outburst is directly related to the evolution of the accretion rates. We have proposed a toy model using two-component accretion flow to understand the evolution of long duration (~ 100 days) outbursts as well as short duration (~ 10-15 days). We have used RXTE/PCA, XMM-Newton, Swift/XRT as well as AstroSat data to estimate the accretion parameters during outbursts and validate the model.
