Abstract : The X-ray binary population of a galaxy is linearly correlated with both its star-formation rate (SFR) (HMXBs) and stellar mass (LMXBs). NGC5813 is the central dominant elliptical galaxy in the NGC 5813 group. Early-type galaxies are usually devoid of any gas/ dust and hence are expected to be devoid of recent star formation events. However, NGC 5813 reportedly hosts five Ultraluminous X-ray sources (ULXs). It also shows evidence for a multiphase ISM with significant emission in cooling lines, H alpha and X rays. Spectral study of the X-ray point sources in NGC 5813 using nine Chandra observations (totaling 638 ks), made during 2005, 2008 and 2011, is presented. The presence of five ULXs is confirmed. Point sources that are sufficiently bright are classed as LMXB candidates and HMXB candidates. The spectral variability of the sources is investigated.
