Abstract : we have studied star-forming regions in the extended disk of nearby spiral galaxies NGC6946, NGC628 using UVIT far-UV Observations. There are few galaxies in our local universe that show H-alpha emission in the extreme outer disk. we have analyzed the observations of NGC6946. It is an isolated galaxy and located in the interior of a nearby void yet shows huge star formation that extends into the extreme outer disk. Earlier studies have shown that it has filamentary HI associated with its outer disk, which could be due to cold gas accretion from the intergalactic medium or the infall of high latitude clouds onto its disk. we have also used archival NIR, MIR, optical and HI data to correlate the star formation traced by FUV emission with the stellar and gas disk. we have tried to understand the star formation in metal-poor outer disk and compare it with the star-forming complexes in the inner regions.
