Abstract : Metallicity is one of the various environmental factors that affects the processes of star and planet formation. Theories and models predict that metallicity plays a very crucial role on pre-main sequence mass accretion and circumstellar disk evolution. The existing star-disk evolution and pre-main sequence mass accretion studies are mainly focused on the nearby star-forming regions of solar metallicity. It is thus of utmost importance to study the role of low-metallicity environments on star and planet formation. We present first of its kind study of star formation and star-disk evolution in an outer Galaxy low-metallicity environment using observations from the wide-field optical Integral Field Spectrograph, VLT-MUSE. We have identified significant number of accreting pre-main sequence sources in this region, making it a suitable candidate low-metallicity region for conducting such a study. The preliminary results from the analysis using MUSE IFU spectra will be presented.
