Abstract : With rapid advancements in Hardware-Software co-design and High Level Synthesis (HLS) tools, reconfigurable computing has become more accessible to software developers and researchers. Increasing ease of use of FPGAs for HPC, machine learning and real-time data analysis, made it possible to develop several novel applications in research and industry alike. This work aims to present a few case studies such as running deep neural network models on FPGAs to demonstrate the potential of hardware acceleration in Astronomy, data analysis & instrumentation.
