Abstract : Analyzing near IR (Ks-band) images from the latest VICS82 survey for a large sample of galaxies (1263) in the Stripe82 region, we perform 2D mass-based 2-component (bulge+disc) decomposition. Based on the scaling relations, thus derived, combined with their kinematic properties, we select a sample of bulges that are indubitably classical and those that are indubitably pseudo. Employing these two sets, we examine the performance of all potential classifiers relating to the shape, prominence, and concentration of the bulge. In addition to that, we analyze the differences in the stellar mass/population and the stellar activity of the two sets. Trends, thus observed, reveal that the processes involved, in the formative and evolutionary stages, have been distinct for disc galaxies hosting different bulge types.
