BIO of Speaker: Amrita Banerjee, is an Assistant professor at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Mumbai. She recieved her PhD in Philosophy and the Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Oregon, USA. She held a position of Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Allegheny College, Pennsylvania, before joining IIT Mumbai. Dr. Banerjee specializes in Moral and Political Philosophy, which she approaches from the traditions of Feminist Philosophy and Classical Pragmatism. She pays special attention to marginalized intellectual spaces within Philosophy and especially work by women philosphers and philosphers of color.
