Abstract : The Cosmology Education and Research Training Centre (COSMOS) is an upcoming state-of-the-art planetarium and research centre in the University of Mysore campus. IIA is tasked with the construction of the planetarium as well as an associated outreach and education program. The latter is being done through a committee set up for this purpose. This program will be unique in that it will use the planetarium and its facilities to promote the analysis and visualisation of astronomy data. It will be a centre for displaying live data, organising teaching courses for school and college students, training on processing data, coding, and hands-on experiments, along with systematic documentation of astronomy heritage in Karnataka and India. In addition, it will organise outreach activities in the region, especially for schools and colleges. Here, we describe some of our work and discuss our future plans.
