Abstract : Shock is very common in astrophysics, especially in high-energy emission physics. Most studies in the literature deal with one-dimensional propagation. Here, we numerically study the interaction of a relativistic fluid and the propagation of a relativistic shock in two dimensions. We consider the oblique incidence of a shock with an idealized reflecting wall. The perpendicular velocity component of the fluid adjacent to the wall vanishes, forming a discontinuity/shock with the incident flow. Depending on the properties of the incident flow, a uniform post-shock region develops, indicating a regular reflection. We find that the transition from regular reflection to irregular (Mach) reflection coincides with the sonic condition.
