Shalima 2, Rupjyoti Gogoi 1 Abstract Type : Poster Abstract Category : Stars, Interstellar Medium, and Astrochemistry in Milky Way Abstract : This work investigates the variability of Type II SN progenitors using mid-infrared data from the Spitzer Space Telescope's IRAC channels, providing insights into the late stages of massive star evolution. A sample of SNe, all located within 15 Mpc and having exploded in the last decade, was chosen based on pre-explosion IRAC observations covering several epochs. Photometric techniques were applied to extract light curves of the progenitor stars, enabling a detailed analysis of their variability over time. The Lomb-Scargle periodogram was employed to search for periodic signals, revealing possible pulsational behavior in the progenitors. Additionally, the post-explosion light curves for a few of these SNe were examined, offering a comparative look at the progenitors before and after the explosions. |
