Abstract : The dense gas and dust clouds surrounding the distant natal sites of massive stars pose significant challenges for direct observation of Massive Young Stellar Objects (MYSOs). In recent decades, the observation of compact and radio bright Class ll methanol maser at 6.7 GHz has assisted to navigate this problem by serving as a distinctive marker towards the early stages of high-mass star formation. Here, we report initial results towards creation of a methanol maser catalog in the first Galactic quadrant using the 100-m Effelsberg radio telescope. The observations are part of the Global View on Star Formation (GLOSTAR) survey, that covers the Galactic plane (-2° < l < 60°, -1° < b < 1°) and the Cygnus-X region in 4-8 GHz band using the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array (VLA) in D & B-configurations and the Effelsberg 100-m telescope. The methanol maser catalog using Effelsberg observations will complement the catalog prepared using the VLA in D-configuration, and is especially valuable to study the variability of methanol masers.
