Abstract : Data management for any scientific experiment deals with archiving, backup, retrieval, and analysis of the data generated. The present data boom has led to the requirement for robust and fault-tolerant data management systems. The Major Atmospheric Cerenkov Experiment (MACE) telescope is the second largest gamma ray telescope in the world located at Hanle, India. Data generated from the telescope is archived in the servers at Hanle and then backed up at BARC Mumbai. The data archival software is responsible for archiving the data received from the subsystems to the servers at the telescope site. This data along with the metadata generated by Meta-data populator software are populated in the databases for web-based user retrieval. The software consists of the RunHeader Parser, and Database Manager modules responsible for interpreting the data files and updating the database for easy retrieval by the users. Apart from observation data, there are secondary data that require backup policies to be implemented. The total data volume per observation night is ~500GB. Till now MACE telescope has generated ~12TB of data. Here we will discuss the end to end data management policies, features, and software implementations, in MACE Telescope. We will also discuss the data statistics over a period of six years to the present day.
