Abstract : A dedicated system for observations of Pulsars and other astrophysical transients at low radio frequencies (<100 MHz) was recently commissioned at the Gauribidanur Radio Observatory. This system is presently augmented with a digital receiver, which can digitize RF signals from individual antenna elements and form multiple simultaneous beams observing different regions of the sky. Such a wide-field, multi-beam system is of great interest within the radio astronomy community, especially in the context of transient surveys covering a large area of the sky. In the initial runs of the upgraded system, Pulsars and solar bursts were successfully detected. The initial results indicate that the former can be used to calibrate the latter. The details of the system with initial results and the future prospects are presented here.
