Our attempts to understand the three-dimensional configuration of ICMEs remain restricted, primarily attributed to the large dimensions of ICMEs and the absence of consistent multi-point measurements. In our current study, we examine geoeffective ICME observations in the year 2023, as identified by the STEREO-A and Wind/ACE spacecraft. The year 2023 provides a unique opportunity after more than a decade since the last instance where in situ ICME observations were feasible from closely spaced spacecraft near 1 AU. Our investigation delves into the distinct characteristics of magnetic clouds (MCs) and the accumulated sheath that precedes the MC. The analysis uncovers that establishing direct correspondences between the sub-structures of ICME observations across different spacecraft proves to be a complex endeavor, even when the spacecraft are separated by just a few degrees in a longitudinal position. |
