It is now well known that the observed emission from blazars is non-thermal in nature which implies the existence of non-thermal population of high energy (relativistic) charged particles within it. A non-thermal distribution of particles can be naturally produced within the source by random scattering of these particles with magneto-hydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence, which is known as the second order Fermi acceleration process. In this work, we present our study of characterizing the short-term variability of blazar like sources within the framework of time-dependent one-zone leptonic model. This model includes the acceleration of relativistic electrons, the radiative loss of those electrons and also diffusive escape process. We studied the time evolution of the electron population in the source for an impulsive injection of electrons in presence of two different MHD turbulence scenarios. The evolution of the photon flux is studied in a self-consistent manner by solving coupled particle and photon evolution equations and found that the response of the system differs for these two turbulence scenarios. |
