Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position, available immediately, at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore to work on Dr. Prateek Sharma's DST supported project on the study of the circumgalactic medium. The project involves computational studies of multiphase gas in clusters and galaxies, and related topics in a broad sense.
Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in the following areas: computational fluids and plasmas (MHD), astrophysics, and high-performance computing.
Candidates applying for the Postdoctoral Position must have a Ph.D. degree in a related field. The position is extendable up to 3 years subject to yearly evaluations.
The successful candidate will have access to computational facilities in Dr. Sharma's group. The facilities include local clusters and workstations. In addition, there is a Petaflop cluster SahasraT available at Supercomputer Education Research Centre (SERC) of IISc. The candidate will have a chance to interact with others in the department.
Salary & house rent allowance (HRA) are as per norms.
