Abstract : | 3C 279 is a best studied FSRQ in its class. The wealth of observations in Radio, Optical/UV, X-ray and Gamma ray energies has lead to a no.of studies regarding the emission mechanisms of the object. We performed a detailed multi band correlation study of 3C 279 over the period 2008 to 2019. The transition regime between synchrotron and Inverse Compton(IC) emissions falls in the soft X-ray region and can be fitted with a double power law. We found a significant correlation of this transition energy with Optical/UV flux. Additionally VHE spectra beyond 10 GeV is significantly steeper than the Optical spectrum. This suggests VHE emission is dominated by the IC processes happening at Klein-Nishina regime. The strong correlation observed between 0.3-10 keV and 0.1-300 GeV flux suggests same particle population is responsible for emissions in these two energies. |
