Abstract : | Dipping LMXB XB 1254-690 was observed by AstroSat in May 2018. The source is hosting a neutron star with an orbital period of 3.88 hrs. We report results from the flux resolved spectroscopic analysis of the combined SXT and LAXPC spectrum of the source. The light curve showed evidence of flares and dips during the observation. A detailed study of the spectrum including flares and dips has not been reported earlier. We found that the joint SXT+LAXPC spectrum of the source is well described by the absorbed thermally Comptonized continuum model. We also performed flux resolved spectroscopy with a model consisting of a disc black body and a thermal Comptonisation model (comptt) which are modified by photo-electric absorption by neutral and ionised materials along with two Gaussian emission lines and found that our results are consistent with XMM Newton results reported earlier. |
