Abstract : A small fraction of active galactic nuclei show the presence of radio jets ranging from sub-kpc to Mpc scales. Some of these radio galaxies show distortion in their jets forming tailed or winged sources. S-shaped radio sources are a subclass of winged galaxies (identified by observing a pair of off-axis bent jets) formation mechanism of which is still unclear. In this work, we aimed to understand their origin and evolution using state of the art numerical simulations. In particular, we have investigated the role of jet precession by performing 3D MHD simulations of underdense jets travelling in a realistic galactic environment with a hybrid Eulerian-Lagrangian framework of PLUTO code. We will discuss the role of hybrid framework on connecting the dynamical features of these sources with observational signatures via exploring the effects of diffusive shocks and radiative losses. The critical role played by the ambient on the formed morphology along with the observed constraints in the kinematic models due to this will be showcased. Additionally, we will highlight the implication of equipartition approximation in age estimation of such sources using particle spectra obtained from simulations. Finally, a predicted polarization map of the source will be shown that can further be verified through high resolution observations like through EVLA.
