Abstract : Study of open cluster is many decade old but still relevant area of research and its scope is growing due to new advances in the technology. NGC 2355 is an intermediate age cluster having age ∼ 108 yr. We performed optical and astrometric analysis for this cluster. We separated the cluster members from the field stars and then determined the fundamental and structural properties such as center, radius, age, distance, metallicity and reddening. We complemented our optical data with near-IR data from 2MASS and kinematic data from Gaia EDR3 for this analysis. We identified one red straggler star in this cluster. We also studied the dynamical status of NGC 2355. The luminosity function shows that NGC 2355 have lost some of its fainter members due to dynamical evolution. We found that mass function of the cluster becomes flatter on going towards the inner part of the cluster which gives a hint of mass segregation. We then confirmed the presence of mass segregation in this cluster. We discussed the dynamics of the cluster under study in the Galaxy using Galactic potential models. We found that NGC 2355 is orbiting outside the solar circle and far from Galactic plane in boxy pattern and circular orbits around the Galactic center. So we can predict a longer life for the cluster NGC 2355.
